The Queen Clam all aboard Stephens M.V. Zanzibar
Nautical but Nice has spent the summer making shenanigans (and taking pictures) on gorgeous vintage yachts and a Venetian water limousine, to boot!
We teamed up with the talented John Moore of Innovative Images to photograph the lovely, porcelain-skinned burlesque performer, Belle Cozette. Belle channeled Bettie Page as she posed on the 1958 55 foot Chris Craft Constellation, Lion's Paw. Thanks to her savvy Captain, Elias, for giving Nautical but Nice this opportunity to make gorgeous maritime history!
Next, we pointed our compass in the direction of Venice--or at least, a Venetian water limousine, Capolavoro--for a shoot featuring Atomic Bombshell Ruby Mimosa. The boat featured in the shoot is a stunning water limousine handmade by the Venice-based Cantiere Serenella, whose legacy of craftsmanship is incomparable. Made almost entirely of South African mahogany save for its teak deck, the boat is a vision of perfection mirroring that of Ruby Mimosa. Her Captain, Robert Lamson, is a maritimin' master of the Puget Sound!
Our most recent shoot features the stunning Lucky Clam duo: Atomic Bombshell burlesque performer Honey Deluxe (Lucky Penny) and Kindra Meyer (Queen Clam) aboard the 1957 48 foot Stephens Brothers yacht, M.V. Zanzibar. The Zanzibar is a rare, perfectly preserved Stephens, featuring many original accessories from the era. The boat was awarded “Best Overall Powerboat” and “Best Engine Room” at the 2002 Victoria Wooden Boat Festival, and has won numerous other awards. Her Captain, David Huchthausen, is a dedicated collector of vintage goods, pioneering glass artist, and kind soul.
Check our Girls page for updates as we post photo shoots.
Thank you to Belle Cozette, John Moore, Elias, Robert Lamson, Ruby Mimosa, David Huchthausen, Kindra Meyer (Queen Clam) and Jamie Von Stratton (Lucky Penny) for helping make pictures of pretty girls on pretty boats, and Aron Schoppert of Peloton Musique for his tireless technical assistance!
